Welcome to Rivendell Meadows. We are a retired US Army family who began raising alpacas in 2002. Being an Army wife, I found myself in an awkward situation after having to sell my home and small retail business in 2002 due to a Military move. Already having horses and the need to purchase land and home, I looked for an alternative business that I could move with me. Adding alpacas to the family was the perfect match. With my love for all animals, and already having the space, this was the best decision I could have made. Thereafter, I added angora rabbits and then angora goats. The animals were my project while my husband built his Military career. My goal is to raise quality well loved animals in a small farm setting with the ability to give each one personal attention and care. As time progressed we shifted from showing and breeding to doing a lot of rescue and rehabilitation. We have taken in horses, alpacas, goats, dogs, poultry and potbellied pigs. We have several permanent residents that are retired here. We no longer breed our animals for sale, only for fiber production. We also have Honey Creek Arena and additional acreage we cultivate for hay.
